Day 3
Harrison Lake State Park, OH

Today we drove 258 miles almost all the way across Ohio. We had nice weather for our drive, and once we arrived it was hot here at Harrison Lake State Park, but then the weather changed very quickly as a thunderstorm blew in over the lake. I think the dark cloud is following us. It has rained on every day of this trip so far. Fortunately it cleared up and stayed cool in the late afternoon and we were able to go for a nice walk or two. This camp is really beautiful and I would certainly recommend this place to anyone.

Our campsite is right on the edge of the lake, which is very cool. We are staying on the south side of the lake in the smaller camp area. The north side is larger with more “amenities”, but we aren’t here for the amenities, we’re here to camp for only one night. If we were staying longer, I’d like the showers nearby and the playground for the kids, etc. But as it is we like the quiet side and we can walk over there if we need or want to.

The sunset here was gorgeous and I took a bunch of photos. Next stop: Nina’s in Indiana. I just got off the phone with her. Julie is expected to arrive there tomorrow around 12 or 1 p.m., and we should be close behind. Tomorrow will only be around a 3 hour drive. Looking forward to our “roomie reunion”!
